Privacy notice
This explains what HumanRelay.ai does with the details you share when you join the worker waitlist or email us. HumanRelay.ai is built by a UK-based team and is launching in South Africa first, so this notice follows both UK GDPR and POPIA. It covers our pre-launch waitlist and will be expanded before the product opens.
Who is responsible for your data
The HumanRelay.ai founding team, based in the UK, decides what happens to the details you give us. A UK company is being registered. Once that is done we will update this notice with its registered name and address, and it will take over as the data controller and responsible party.
What we collect
If you join the worker waitlist we collect your name, mobile number and city / area. If you email us, we hold whatever you put in that message. That's it. We don't run trackers, ad pixels or third-party analytics on this site.
Why we collect it, and our lawful basis
We use your details for one purpose: to contact you when HumanRelay opens in your area. Our lawful basis is your consent, given when you submit the form. You can withdraw it at any time (see below), and we'll act on it.
Who sees it
Only the HumanRelay founding team. We do not sell or share your details. Where a processor helps us operate the waitlist or send messages (for example an email or messaging provider), they act on our instructions under a processing agreement and only for the purpose above.
Where your data goes
Most people on the waitlist are in South Africa. The team reading it is in the UK, and the providers we use to run the waitlist and send messages store data in the UK, the EU or the United States. So your details leave South Africa. We only use providers that commit to a standard of protection equivalent to POPIA and UK GDPR, under written terms.
How long we keep it
Until we've launched in your area and been in touch, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. If the project doesn't proceed, we delete the waitlist.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop contacting you. Email hello@humanrelay.ai and we'll action it. These rights apply under both POPIA and UK GDPR.
If you are not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to a regulator. In South Africa that is the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za). In the UK it is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
